My son and I couldn't wait for minor league baseball to start early one spring, so we went to a college game. It was early spring. It was COLD. Trying to keep warm and spying the recurring ads for The Pork Producers Association on the scoreboard, we rewrote the words to Take Me Out To The Ballgame. We humbly present: Take Me Out To The Restaurant Katie Casey was restaurant mad. Had the fever and had it bad, Just to order from a menu Every sous, Katie blew. On a Saturday, her young beau Called to see if she'd like to go To see a show but Miss Kate said "no." I'll tell you what you can do. Take me out to the restaurant, Take me out for a meal. Buy me some pork chops and apple sauce, I don't care if the waiter's a louse. Let me eat, eat, eat 'til I'm real full, And then I'll have some dessert. For it's ONE, TWO, THREE meals a day, At the old restaurant. Katie Casey tried all the food Knew all the waiters, both bad and good, Told the chef when the seasoning was wrong All along, good and strong. When the chef didn't want to cook, Katie Casey gave him a look, Then to cheer up the chef she knew She made customers sing this song: Take me out to the restaurant, Take me out for a meal. Buy me some pork chops and apple sauce, I don't care if the waiter's a louse. Let me eat, eat, eat 'til I'm real full, And then I'll have some dessert.
