Brown Sugar Glaze And Almonds

©2002, The Naked Whiz

A very simple recipe for grilling trout filets using alder chips.

  • 2 - 12 ounce trout filets
  • 4 Tbsp dark brown sugar
  • Balsamic vinegar
  • Butter
  • 1 - 2.25 oz packaged of sliced almonds

Preparation Directions:

Melt the butter in a small frying pan and add the almond slices. Stir over medium heat until lightly toasted. Set aside.

Mix brown sugar with enough balsamic to form a thick goo that will stick to the fish. Place fish on a fish grid covered with foil that has been brushed with olive oil. Brush the sugar mixture generously on the trout filets. Sprinkle heavily with almonds.

Cooking Directions:

Stabilize your egg at 350 degrees. Toss a handful or two of alder chips onto the fire and place the fish grid on a raised grid in the egg. Cook at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.       Home       Search Our Site       Email The Whiz       Listen To Whizcast       Whizlog       Buy Whiz Gear       Privacy Policy       Kamado Grille
